Sending emails through an Exchange server

Question: Hi there

Our email system has migrated from a POP system to Office365. I have found information which suggests the settings should be:

Server Address:
Username: My Office365 Address
Password: My Office365 Password
Port Number: 587 (With TLS)
Authentication: My password

I have applied all those settings (the TLS I've set is TLS v1.2 and the Authentication is ESMTP with Login. Connections are set on 5.

When I try to send, I get a message that sits on: Looking for

Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find a FAQ that addresses this issue. Hope to hear from you soon (this is quite a time-critical email).

Answer: Usually, when a mail server doesn't respond it is because of either the port number or the SSL setting. You may try with no port number, that is, setting the address to '' and 'TLSv1.2' (no Exp).

Also, remember that in order to use office365 with MaxBulk Mailer:

- You have to create a shared mailbox in your Office 365 portal (here) and assign a password.
- You have to use the shared mailbox email and password you just created on Office365.

This is explained here: How to send bulk email with Office365.
