Question: When I launch MaxBulk Mailer version 8.4.6 it on my MacBook Pro 2017, it tells me that there is a free upgrade to 8.6.1, and offers to download it. However, when I download and install 8.6.1, I am told that my upgrade plan has expired and I will lose access to future updates unless I update.

Actually, before switching to the current laptop, I thought I had been able to upgrade to and use 8.6.1, but after migrating the user files and applications, I was asked to input my license number and it was not accepted and a dialog box appeared that the last version I am licensed for is 8.4.6. The installed 8.6.1 version only ran in demo mode and resulted in distribution emails with a watermark. had to delete it and drop back to 8.4.6.

So, is 8.6.1 free for me, or not?!

Answer: When you purchase a software license from us you automatically get one year of support and updates. After that, you have the choice between keeping using the last version you are entitled to or renew by purchasing an update plan. Of course, your license never expires, you can continue to use the version you purchased forever as long as it works with new OS versions, indeed your activation code will always work for the version you purchased and for all the updates released during the 12 months period from the date of purchase or previous update plan if you already purchased one.

In order to access the last versions, you need to purchase an update plan. An update plan actually allows you to use new versions and get support for more time, it is not a mandatory subscription in order to continue to use the software you purchased, it is a totally optional way of getting updated versions.
