Met iCash kun je naar believen categorieën creëren om je rekeningen te classificeren. Categorieën zijn eigenlijk subcategorieën van Soorten. Een rekening valt onder een categorie, en die categorie valt onder een Soort. Soorten zijn vooraf vastgelegd en kunnen niet worden gewijzigd, terwijl categorieën volledig aanpasbaar zijn. Je kunt categorieën zowel vanuit het Overzichtpaneel met de Gereedschapknop als vanuit de Categoriemanager aanleggen. Daarbij hoef je slechts een unieke naam en een soort te kiezen.
Categorieën toevoegen:
Je kunt een categorie toevoegen door eenvoudig de naam in te voeren en de soort te selecteren. Klik vervolgens op de Toevoegen knop.
Bestaande categorieën bewerken:
Je kunt een bestaande categorie bewerken door die in de lijst te dubbelklikken of door deze te selecteren en in de menubalk Categorie | Wijzig te kiezen. Breng de nodige wijzigingen aan en klik op de Bewaren knop. Ook hier moet de Naam uniek zijn.
Categorieën verwijderen:
Je kunt een categorie verwijderen door die uit de lijst te selecteren en op de "-" knop te klikken. Een categorie die in tenminste één transactie wordt gebruikt is automatisch vergrendeld, zodat die niet verwijderd kan worden totdat alle transacties waar die wordt gebruikt verwijderd zijn.
