How to install our software

Since our software is available in most cases for both Apple Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems, the very first step you have to take is to download the right version for your computer. All products and versions are available here. Each operating system is identified with a different icon:

You have to click on the link in front of your operating system icon. Be careful, files are completely different and they will work only with the operating system they have been designed for. In addition the Mac OS X file comes as a disk image while the Windows file is an executable installer. This document explains the installation procedure for each operating system.

New paragraph Apple Mac OS X:

By clicking on the Mac OS X download link you will get a disk image file transferred to your computer and automatically mounted by your operating system. It is like if you had connected a new hard drive to your computer, you see a new disk icon on your desktop and its contents are displayed in a new window (if you don't see that window, double-click on the disk image icon). All you have to do is to drag and drop the application folder on the left to the folder labeled 'Applications' on the right. That will copy the application from the disk image to your computer 'Application' folder. Once done just drag and drop the disk image to the Trash icon on your Dock. That will unmount it. Note that the disk image file will remain where it has been downloaded. You can mount it at any time by double-clicking on it. Now you can browse your 'Application' folder, open the application folder and launch it or add it to your Dock. Note that Mac OS X may show an alert when launching the application for the first time since it has been downloaded from the Internet.

New paragraph Microsoft Windows:

As soon as you click on the download link you will be asked to download or run the installer. You can proceed either ways. If you download the file you will have to run it later by double-clicking on it. I you decide to run it directly, the file will be downloaded and launched right after. Windows will show an alert since you are trying to run a file you have just donwloaded from the Internet. Click on the 'Yes' button. Next you have to select the installation language from the list. Once you are done click on on the 'OK' button. Then the application installer will start. It has 7 steps:
1  Welcome screen showing the application name and version. Click on the 'Next' button.
2  License screen, check the 'I accept the agreement' box and click on the 'Next' button.
3  Select a destination folder (or keep the default one) and click on the 'Next' button.
4  Set the 'Start Menu' folder name (or deactivate it) and click on the 'Next' button.
5  Set the installer to create a Desktop & Quick Launch Icons. Click on the 'Next' button.
6  Ready to install screen, check everything and click on the 'Next' button.
7  Finish screen. You can set the installer to launch the application.

Once finished and depending on the options you have selected during the installation, you will be able to launch the application using the Windows Start Menu, the Desktop Icon and the Quick Launch Icon. The installer also save an unistaller inside the application folder.
