Error #102 - The URL is not valid.

I've seen this and similar error messages in the forum, but none of the usual troubleshooting steps seems to be solving this for me. Nothing changed over the weekend. I got to the office, fired up MBM to check my stats and handle any unsubs, and got this error. I've repaired permissions, deleted and re-entered password to the lm folder on my server, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately, yes. It's worked fine for a very long time, so unless something weird happened with our website over the weekend, which I'm told did not, this is something random and I can't figure out why. I did upgrade to the latest version the other day, but that's never done anything. I also installed Yosemite.

P.S. It does work when I go in using a browser, but that doesn't allow me to deal with unsubs.

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

I believe you should ask your server support. They have access to the web server connection and error logs. We have no problem in fixing things but we have to know what to fix.

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

Thanks, I'm already on that and see what they can find. Unfortunately, our site was constructed so poorly, even when we moved to a host that knows what they're doing, they had to retain the https: so the entire thing wouldn't deteriorate.

It hasn't been the ideal setup, but MBM has worked great for I believe a couple years now. Absolutely nothing changed other than Yosemite and going to 8.4.8. I just went back to 8.4.7 and it does the same thing, so I've ruled that out, as well. :)

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

It is very likely a HTTP header... :?
In the past there were problems with the User-Agent header but current MaxBulk Mailer, as far as I know, sent he right one...

So when you say ask for "web server connection and error logs" at which point should they be from? At the exact moment I try to access Statistics or try to get Unsubscriptions from MLM and get the errors? That's when the error occurs.

I dug this up on my end at the exact time of the error, but have no idea what the deal is.
Oct 23 15:56:18 Lisa-Lines-Mac-Pro.local MaxBulk Mailer[1264]: WARNING: The Gestalt selector gestaltSystemVersion is returning 10.9.0 instead of 10.10.0. Use NSProcessInfo's operatingSystemVersion property to get correct system version number.

Otherwise it's fully functional and I'm handling unsubs manually. But we like statistics around here, so I'd like to see those back to normal :)

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

By the way, what URL do you have for MLM in your MaxBulk Mailer preferences?

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

https://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/lm/lm.php

Which is what it's been since day one. I can access convenentionally with ftp or anything, so I don't know what changed or why. Only Yosemite and 8.4.8 last Friday and Monday I fired up MBM and got the error.

These are the others I've tried, just for giggles.

What do you get when you click on the 'Go' button?

I don't see anything wrong. We would need the server support help, I insist. They have error logs that can help track this problem.

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

They're on it, and say they see the requests coming in to that directory with no errors being generated.

I just sent out a blast, and unfortunately forgot to clear the field in "Preferences/Remote Lists" which allowed me to send a blast last week, without issues, except for the unsubscribe thing. However, this means that all the variables are exactly as they usually were, prior to upgrades of OS and MBM, including the click-through info. Everything works but that.

So here's what happens, trying to explain in a logical way because I may be on to something but am not quite skilled enough to know why it's doing this. :)

I always put the usual "click here if you can't view this e-mail" with a link to the page at the top of every e-mail.

This is the error I get when I try to click that link from within one of my test mail addresses I also send to:
string(104) "Lisa Line [email protected] Scary Good Deals From LDV - 10% off Select Parts 315 test 9 click yes no"

Even though my html shows the link below, when I copy that link from within the body of the original e-mail, it's this: https://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/lm/lm. ... 031ns.html

The actual e-mail is this:
https://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/600pa0 ... 031ns.html

Now, before my upgrades I sent this e-mail out on Oct 21st and it worked just fine. I've figured out the problem started on the 23rd. https://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/600ssv ... 049ns.html

The link within the body of that working e-mail is: https://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/lm/lm. ... 049ns.html

If you can glean anything from this, please do. :)

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

For tracking purpose MaxBulk Mailer adds the MLM URL at the beginning of your URL. You should try one of those URLS locally, I mean, send a message to yourself and try to click on the links... and see how they look like.

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

Anything sent locally looks fine. And the sends to my mailing list look fine as long as I have https:// in the Prefs.

The "click here if you can't view this" link seems to work when it's https:// and not http://, but it's always been https:// (thanks to our original developer who wasn't bright), and has worked just fine. The server has always been able to 'talk' back to me to let me know unsubs and for viewing statistics.

The error when it's http:// is:
The requested URL /marketing/lm/http://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/600pa031ns/600pa031ns.html was not found on this server.

Putting this out of my brain for the weekend. I'll revisit it on Monday and see if I can learn anything else. :)

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

This '/marketing/lm/http://www.ldvusa.com/marketing/600pa031ns/600pa031ns.html was not found on this server.' is weird. It lacks lots of stuff. All the tracking stuff. :-/

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

Finally had time to look at this again, did a re-install of MLM which now allows me to click on Statistics and I don't get the Error #102 thing anymore.

However, as I have 300+ Deliveries listed in the Statistics window, I'm wondering if that will take some time to refresh. I clicked on my latest on, 321, and it seems to be "stuck". Nothing is happening, but there seems to be a status bar on the right side. (see screenshot)

Since I'm good with starting over fresh with Statistics, is there a way to delete all the previous Deliveries listed? I'd love to just yank them all, but clicking on the checkbox just seems to stall and do nothing. Unless it's just taking a very long time to talk to the server, since it is 300+ items.

Is there a way to quickly delete all previous deliveries? Would it be feasible to just delete them from where they're located in the /lm directory?

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

And one more tidbit. Now that I've re-installed MLM, Unsubscribes don't seem to work and generate this error. Any idea how I can fix this? Even if I have to process Unsubs manually, I'd at least like them to work again. Not sure how directory permissions could have changed, because that's kind of what this looks like?

Re: Error #102 - The ULR is not valid.

Refreshing the delivery list is local, no server connection involved. MaxBulk Mailer only reads the delivery history list. I have thousands of entries and it loads fast. You can indeed delete the history, it is the 'Delivery > Clear History' menu'.

About the error try 777, 775, 755 or 705 im this order for the directory permissions.

This problem seems to have cropped up again, and I've been yelling at my host to look at the .htaccess file, as I've seen a thread about that being a fix.

However, this is the error we now get when someone tries to unsubscribe:
Internal Server Error
Directory "/chroot/home/ldvusa/ldvusa.com/html/marketing/lm" is writeable by others
suPHP 0.7.2

Has this been seen before? Is there any advice I can give to our host support rep, because he hasn't been able to solve this and it's becoming a huge problem. MaxProg has been my choice for years now, and has worked flawlessly most of the time, except when something unknown changes on the host end. And they don't seem to be able to deal with the issue, so any help from this end would be appreciated.

This is way above my code skill set. ;)
