Unsubscribing does not seem to be making or adding to list.

I send out messages to myself and unsubscribe. Seems to work, but it does not show up in a local blacklist or writes a remote one that I can find. I keep unsubscribing my three mail accounts I have but I can keep sending messages to the same addresses after unsubscribing.

The instructions:
"You just need to edit the script settings, upload it to your site,

What precisely am I editing? The upload_list.php file?
And how should it be edited?

I can't seem to get a local list up there and have it behave as if it's a local list, or as I would like to refer to it as, work as expected.

"fully integrates with MaxBulk Mailer (v6 or higher) through the 'Remote List' function allowing you to send messages to your remote lists directly as if they were local."

If I'm on a remote list and I send out a message from that list, when people unsubscribe I expect those people to be blacklisted.
Somehow simply added to the local (or a remote) blacklist.
I don't see that happening so far.

I don't think I have set things up properly yet. Going into sixth day.

When a recipient unsubscribe from a remote list, its entry is deleted from that list, that's all. No blacklist here.

With regard to unsubscribe, do I need to use a remote list or can I use a local?
I'm assuming remote and I have tried three ways to get this to work.

What is the correct way to get a local list into the remote lists folder?

1. If I use "Upload to MLM..." to put up a list it puts it in "Uploads" folder and I can't access that in Remote Lists, of course.
2. If I export my list from MaxBulk (text file) and use http://website.com/public/lm/lm.php?cmd ... ion=upload, choose it and upload, it tells me it uploaded 0 addresses (there are four in there and I have opened it and seen them. And I find it odd there are terms of Append, Overwrite, and Delete. I just want to upload it.
3. If I use ftp and place an exported list (text file) in the remote "Lists" folder I can see from MaxBulk Remote Lists and send it out, BUT when I unsubscribe I'm presented with this.

"We're sorry, but the email address [email protected] has not been found in any of the lists. Check the address and try again. If you think this is an error please contact us at [email protected].

Any chance you can get in here more often than only first thing in the morning? It would be appreciated.

What error do you get when you use the 'Upload To MLM' menu? This function is supposed to insert a list into MLM database directly.

Not sure how you we can be 100% sure we will never email a person who unsubscribes.

Here is my plan. I have a local list and upload it to Remote. Send out the email and after a couple weeks subtract the remote list from the local list and come up with the people who unsubscribed and put them into the black list.
Always generate future Remote lists from the local.

I'm sure there is a slick way the software could offer this. I googled about subtracting one list from another in php.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=531991

Maybe:
$ sort list1.txt list2.txt | uniq -u

Not sure if you will offer it in the program, in the mean time can you give us some instructions on how I might use php to remove a Remote list from a Local list? I would think others would want to do this also.

Load the Remote List, Export it to a file named DELETE.TXT', load your local list and then drop that file to it.

MLM is a subscription manager, if a person want to resubscribe, he/she is free to do it.

What am I doing this in? How exactly do I Load the Remote or Local Lists .Do you mean drop that file "onto" it? You instruct as if I know half of what you do. Start with the thought I don't know anything. How about we get on the same page with this. I have a list with 50 addresses called BIGLIST.TXT and another with 40 addresses called DELETE.TXT That will leave me the unsubscribes.

What do I do exactly? Load the LIst does not help me.
I need something like, in MaxBulk/Recipients/Upload to MLM the BIGLIST etc. etc. Like that.

Thank you,

Thinking people might subscribe again is as likely as people who fire people will hire them back again. It's so rare, they can email me to get back on. I would rather be sure I don't bother them again. I have people who buy from me and send me "F--- O--" instead of "Unsubscribe" in the subject. I would rather error on the side of never bothering them again.

Load the remote list by selecting 'Remote List' from the list pull-down menu and selecting the list you want to export. Then click on the 'Export' button. To load a local list select its name from the List pull-down menu.

Here is a compete answer for anyone else interested.

With regard to getting recipients who unsubscribes into the Blacklist, here are the instructions.
In MaxBulk Mailer/Recipients load a local list you plan on sending the mail (with unsubscribe) to.
Upload it to MLM (Menu bar "Recipients") A few weeks after the mail out, choose Remote Lists and the individual list that has had "Unsubscribes" applied to it. Export it as "DELETE.TXT" Now load in your original local list, if you want to keep your local list, save this as a new list such as "For Blacklist". Now locate the "DELETE.TXT" file and drop it on this List window in MaxBulk Mailer. You will be left with those that Unsubscribed. Select all and under the "Gear" menu select "Add to Blacklist.
Delete the "For Blacklist".

My reasons for wanting to do this: If someone has unsubscribed, but then later buys other products, I don't want them accidently getting back on mailing lists. They should not have to unsubscribe every time I get their address from conducting business. Am I wrong? Or am I not doing something right?
