unsubscribe requests without email address

Hi,
I keep receiving unsubscribe requests without any email address inside the message.
The message says: " has unsubscribed from ."
As you can see, both the email address and list name are missing.

I also get proper unsubscribe requests, where nothing is missing.

However, I have received these "empty" requests many times. Do you have any idea why this is happening?

I don't see anything wrong. Is there something in common with those incomplete requests?

I don't understand what you mean by your question. The english newsletter you saw above is almost identical to the rest of the newsletters in other languages. Here is the Greek version of this newsletter:
http://www.ivf-embio.gr/newsletters/Chr ... greek.html
and the German version: http://www.ivf-embio.gr/newsletters/Chr ... erman.html

I sent 6 newsletters in different languages to 6 mailing lists. Then I started receiving unsubscribe requests by email, but some of them do not include an email address or the mailing list name.

When I get email messages with unsubscribe requests without the name of the mailing list, then they all come from people in the Greek mailing list.

This makes me believe that the issue has to do with the non-latin (Greek) characters in recipients names and the title of the newsletter.

I must mention also, that in the MLM database there are wrong records in the table tbl_mlm_sub_loc.

For example, there is a record with proper first name, part of the last name, the text "%<" in the field fld_company and no email address.

Another wrong record is: fld_id:11, ld_list:no, fld_firstname: Στ (there is no name with just 2 letters), fld_lastname:46, fld_company: EmBIO-Greek (this is the name of the Greek mailing list, so it shouldn't be in this field) and fld_email:8583-3.

As I wrote above, I believe that MLM can not handle the Greek names correctly.

MLM has absolutely nothing to do with Greek or any other language. It is a simple PHP script that handles Unicode utf-8 data. I can't say the same of mySQL. If you see wrong data in your database, it is because there is a problem with the database. Check wether it is set to utf-8 as well.

I used a local list with 3,850 contacts.
The message was sent with 10 partial deliveries because there were problems with the upstream provider of my host and I wanted to make sure all emails would be sent finally.

Have you tried to send that greek message to yourself? Do you detect any problem. Sorry to ask that much but so far I still don't know where the problem comes from.

Hi,
yes, I have sent it to myself several times. On most occasions, everything worked fine.

On one occasion though, the statistics report is completely blank: no recipients, no emails opened, nothing...

It looks like we are not going to find the source of the problem this time, so I will wait until the next newsletter and I will inform you about any new issues.
