Text/HTML mails missing text

Using latest version of MBM 6.7 I am trying to send a mail with Text/HTML format.

I cannot find any evidence that MBM is sending out the text version

When received by Outlook 2003 the html version is OK but;
throw the mail in Junk mail box, no text version visible;
Save the email and view in text editor; no evidence of the substantial text section.

My message goes:
<START>
plenty text ...
<HTML>
a bit of html ...
</HTML>

How to test/view the text version?

Yes I am sending using Text-HTML format. I have tried switching Outlook to 'plain text mode' and moving email into junk-folder; still no text.

Surely the point of Text/HTML is that any of my readers using Outlook in no-pics or plain-text mode need to see the Text version. Otherwise nobody is going to see it?

Plain Text version is used only on software with no HTML rendering. Outlook will never show it.
