TAGS Don't work?

Just downloaded MaxBulk Mailer 8.3.2-US for the MAC and it is still unregistered. Wanted to do some tests before purchasing.

I am trying to get the tags to work and just can't find how to get it to happen:

Using a test email message:

Dear [Firstname],

Please come over and see [Surname] who is looking to join use at [Company]. His email address is [E-mail Address] so please email him on [Long Date].

which comes out as:

Dear ,

Please come over and see who is looking to join use at . His email address is so please email him on Wednesday, 6 July 2011.

Look at the settings panel and make sure the 'Singly' option next to delivery is checked.
