Subscribers managing their details

Have you come up with a solution to allow users to manage their subscription details, like altering their email address?
 
Unsubscribing the old address and subscribing the new one. Right now it is the only way.
 
Why? I am registered to a dozen of mailing lists in different places, all of them work that way. To offer an update system you have to handle passwords, MLM could do that but right now we have kept things simple.
 
Just makes it complicated for the subscriber. If they were taken to their entry and had the opportunity to add or change something, it would be far simpler - wouldn't it?
