smtp problem with Mobileme (.mac)

I am trying out Bulk Mailer for the first time and am having problems getting it to send out a test email to 1 address.

In settings I have select SSL v2/3 and have entered:

smtp.me.com:587

and my mac id and password and have selected esmtp authentication.

The delivery screen says connecting to smtp.me.com:587 put it never connects and keeps timing out.

Can anyone help please?

Are you sure port 587 or me.com is a SSL port? I don't believe so. Try to remove the port.
