Serious encoding problems for imported text

I just purchased BM and discovered that when importing data from text files, the encoding choices do not work. I am attempting to import Korean, thus I use the ISO-2022 Korean choice but this produces a garbled result in the record preview. Could there not be more choices, say EUC or other types of encoding for Korean, which I believe would work?

As it is now, this wants much extra work on my part since none of the data can be imported and must be manually re-entered!

Additionally, E-mail Extractor can not handle text files with 2-byte characters (Korean, Japanese, Chinese). The resulting files can not be opened using Korean (mac) encoding, according to the TextEdit dialogue box.

What encoding is your list? If you get garbled characters it is because of wrong encoding. Have you tried UTF-8?

Importing Chinese to MB

Hi

My creative team are working furiously to get an email out today.
We have imported Korean without a hitch but are having huge problems with Chinese.
We have used UTF8 encoding and set up using Arial Unicode.
Can you please let us know if this is correct or if there is better format?

Many thanks
Joyce
