Sending lags when program is minimized

I downloaded a newer version (8.4.4) I find its lighting fast when open and I'm watching it - but if I minimize it in the background (which I need to do to complete other work), it lags and barely sends anything. Any suggestions?

Are you using last Mac OS X version? If so, that system includes a new feature that makes applications to go into sleep mode if not in the foreground and maximized. You can deactivate this by selecting the MaxBulk Mailer icon, the Finder 'Get Info' menu and checking the 'Prevent App Nap' option.
