Remote plain text mailing list import

How do you import a remote plain text mailing list? The only only option I get in the drop down menu is for a MSQL database. MLM is properly on my site and working fine. Do I have to login to MLM, get the data and create the list manually? If so, what is the format?

If MLM is installed and the list is a MLM list just select 'Remote Lists' from the list pull-down menu in the 'Recipients' panel.
