Remembering the recipient list

If I select a previously created recipient list, Mailer doesn't remember it the next time I open the document - i.e. the popup recipient menu is blank.

This means that it's not clear what the recipient list for the current mailer document is based on - so if I make changes to that recipient list & want to save it for later mailshots, it becomes a bit of a lottery whether I'm overwriting the right one or not.

Also, perhaps if the recipient list is modified, the blank label in the recipient list popup could be changed to "Custom" to make it more obvious that the list is unique to that mailer document.

Using v8.3.8 on Mac.

This is the intended behavior. A document has to be exactly what you saved. Imagine the list were reselected, you open a document one month later, the original list will be overwritten along with all the sent statuses. Bad.

Understood, thanks. I wondered if that was the case - I was hoping that the delivery status etc was held separately from the recipient list.

What would be the best way of maintaining a "master copy" of the recipient list, that could be imported into future mailer documents?

Is it a case of opening a new document, importing the list, making the changes, saving the list & then discarding the mailer document?

Use the list pull-down menu for that. You can select a list, add recipients to it, save it clicking on the 'Save' button next to it... You have even more options in the 'Recipients' menu.
