Try to start the email verification process and minimize the application, or just let it go by night.
eMail Verifier is not a software you have to attend staying in front. Depending on the quality of your list it may be fast or very slow. This is is because Email Verifier has to wait for hundreds of servers to respond, make retries, handle time-outs.

It is also recommended to use the OpenDNS servers and the following settings:
