Problems with SMTP-Authentification

Dear Stan,

our E-Mail-Provider will be requiring SMTP-Authentification from September 1 on. Now I checked the procedure and didn't succeed in sending a single message.
I use exactly the same settings as in Apple Mail.
Can you tell me what's wrong?

I guess your user ID or password is wrong. Your server responds '535 Authentication failed'. Perhaps your server has also changed your ID as part of the authentication change.

Dear Stan,

Thank you for your quick response. It must be in the middle of the night on your side of the globe.
The password seems to be still valid as I use it in mail, but I now have created a completely new mail account with a new very "simple" password and everything works fine. Although I don't know the reason the problem seems to be solved.
