problems launching MBM on new computer

I have new laptop and copied my MBM over to it. It opens and runs fine, however only when I'm on the LAN reachable to my iMac where I previously had it installed. If I am away from my LAN (meaning not able to communicate with my old office iMac) MBM will hang when I try to launch it.
It appears to want to connect to that old machine for somereason thus making it unusable. I've deleted it and installed fresh from a new DMG installer and same problem. Like there is some pref file still on my laptop from the original App copy over that is related to the old computer where MBM was running.
Any ideas as to what to do next?

I have (unless I am still missing something). I've deleted ~/Preferences/com.maxprog.maxbulkmailer but still MBM hangs or gives me and error that the computer can't be found when I start the program away from the LAN (paraphrasing error, I can't remember what it actually reads right now)
Are there some other files, not in my user prefs, that I need to locate to delete?
