In a few days we will release MLM 2 as part of MaxBulk Mailer 7 release. We have decided to rename the folder and several files as follow:
- 'mlm' folder renamed 'lm'
- 'mlm_settings.php' renamed 'lm_settings.php'
- 'mlm.php' renamed 'lm.php'
In addition we have updated the HTML files to use 'lm.php' instead of 'mlm.php'.
It is recommended that you rename those files in your current installation before installing v2, update the HTML files that use the script and finally update MaxBulk Mailer preferences to use the new name that will make the transition much easier. It is easy, you just need to drop the first 'm'.
Why that renaming?
We decided to rename MLM files to fix a mistake we made in the first place calling the script MLM. MLM also stands for Multi-Level Marketing and is actually a term that may add up to 2.2 points to your message spam score! There are a couple of threads in this forum about this topic.
Why should I rename my current working MLMv1 files?
First it is better for you since you will not get those 2.2 points added to your message spam score. And second, it will make the MLMv2 to MLMv3 transition easier since you will only need to overwrite the files with the new ones?
