Hyperlinks disappeared

I recently upgraded to 6.1 from 5.8. Sent two emails yesterday that had hyperlinks inserted using the hyperlink manager. Both emails were tested before sending and both showed links. Both emails were sent as usual.

This morning, a partner at the firm (why does it always have to be a partner) sent an email asking about brackets where there should be links. I had another recipient check the two emails this morning. The first email had all hyperlinks, the second just had <> where the links should have been.

I opened the two files sent yesterday to resend. The link placeholders still appear in the body of the emails, but when sent, both emails now show the <>. I went to edit my hyperlinks to find that they are completely gone. That would explain the <>. The two emails were sent one after the other.

I'm stumped.

Do you mean you have delete MaxBulk Mailer preference file in some way?

Nothing was deleted between the sending of the two emails. Sent the one email and links appeared correctly, sent the other and no links.

Recreated a few links with link manager this morning in 6.1 and they seem to be functioning properly again. I had about 30 or so saved hyperlinks that just went bye bye.

I recommend you to backup your settings using the 'File > Settings > Export' menu as often as possible. However settings should be safe it is clear that in your case something happened.

Hyperling table cleared at upgrade.

I have had the same problem on each of the last two upgrades. After upgrading I have had to rebuild my table of hyperlinks.

In a related suggestion, it would be helpful if I could sort the table of hyperlinks. I have accumulated as many as 20 hyperlinks, and it would spped up their use if I could sort them alphabetically.

As far as I know you can sort the hyperlinks clicking the column headers. Is it what you are looking for?

Hyperlinks disappeared again

Using the 6.2 version. Was in the process of composing 4 different emails, all with hyperlinks (all 4 using the same links) inserted via hyperlink manager. Sent a test email of each to a few coworkers. Went back into the emails to edit some changes. Went to add another hyperlink in manager and all my hyperlinks were gone. This occurred twice in the course of editing these emails.

The above occurred when I was using 5.8 a few weeks ago, as well.

I can certainly export my settings as a backup, but this seems to occurred with no rhyme or reason. Any help is appreciated.

I recommend you to download Onyx. It is a tool that can help you fix problems on your system. Go to the 'Automation' panel, select all the options and click on the 'Execute' button. Then restart your computer and check if your problem has been fixed.

If your problem has not been fixed you will have to run the tasks manually. Note that you will be asked to reboot after each task. There is no need to do that, just reboot once you have run all the tasks.

Maintenance panel
- Run the permissions reparation from the first sub-panel by clicking on 'Execute'.
- Select the 'Daily', 'Weekly' and 'Monthly' scripts from the 'Scripts' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Select 'LaunchServices' and 'dyld's from the 'Rebuild' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button. (You can also select to rebuild the Spotlight Index).

Cleaning panel
- Check everything from the 'System' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Check everything from the 'User' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Check 'Browser Cache' and 'Download Cache' from the 'Internet' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Check 'System and Users' from the 'Fonts' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Check everything from the 'Logs' sub-panel *BUT* 'Conversations log of instant messaging' and click on the 'Execute' button.
- Check 'Recent Items', 'Obsolete items' and 'Previous 'iTunes Libraries' from the 'Misc' sub-panel and click on the 'Execute' button.
