How to remove an account?

As suggested in the manual, I create a few accounts used for lending money to my friends (1 account for each person). However, after some time, the person has returned the money to me and I don't want to keep that account any more. What should I do to safely remove those accounts that I don't want without affecting other accounts and transactions?

Actually you can't remove accounts that have been used but you can deactivate them. To do that select the account, right-click your mouse and select 'Deactivate'. You can then select the 'Hide deactivated Accounts' menu.
