Feature requests

Hi Stan - here are three feature requests I'd love to see.

1) mail merge variables possible in subject field

2) variable header field stored on individual data file basis, not as a general preference. OR allow a mail merge variable in a custom named header field.

3) Ability to drop file containing a dataset that matches a field in the recipient data and have it delete those records (like 'delete' works for email addresses). So say I have a field in my recipient data called code which is a 5 digit number unique for each individual recipient. Then:

I make a text file with a list of codes and call it delete-code.txt

I then drag and drop that on the recipient list and MaxBulk removes all recipients whose code matches one found in the text file - just like it would for 'delete' or 'keep' using email addresses.

thanks!

You can already do that. All tags are supported in the subject in MaxBulk Mailer Pro. Not in the Standard version though.

This is scheduled to be added in a future version.

How would you implement that feature? I guess that code is in one of the 20 opt fields right?

Thanks - because the pull down list of fields is grayed out - I did not think to just type in the [fullname] in the subject. Easy!

To implement the 3rd item, if I have a custom field in my mail merge called "phonenumber" and then I dragged a text file containing a bunch of phone numbers called "delete phonenumber" onto the list, it would match up the data in the text file and remove records that contained a number that matched.

Yes, that menu is for the message body only. You can use the Edit > Insert Tag' menu to insert tags almost everywhere.

To say the true I have always be tented to create a separate application to do that kind of things, a tool to manipulate lists with all kind of options...

Please write it then, you will have at least one sale! Right now, I have to export the list out of maxbulk into excel, bring in the numbers I want to match up, then copy/paste in a large excel equation I wrote to find all the matches, then sort it, then copy out the email addresses for the records that matched, then paste those into a "delete' file, then drag over to the list in Max bulk. It works, but I do this 500+ times per year, so would be nice to have a short cut...

Another feature request: Include a button on the text editing page that will let me copy the style of the selected text in the email body (font, size, bold, etc.) and then apply that same style to some other text in the email. Similar to MS Words "Format Painter" button.
