failure to connect to SMTP Host

MaxBulk Mailer 8.4.9 - US

i am a light user of MaxBulk Mailer, sending about 75 emails at a time, 3 or 4 times per year. over the years so far, so good. no problems.

now, a problem.

i’m not doing anything different, i don’t think. my settings conform to the recommended settings for using GMail (http://www.maxprog.com/site/support/us/ ... _gmail.php).

the problem: when activating a ‘Test Mode’ delivery, the application seems stuck on ‘Looking for smtp.gmail.com:587’. i’ve given it more time than it has ever needed, and still it makes no connection.

has something changed, or passed me by that i should know about? some place i should look for a settings error?

any advice on how to proceed, what to change, anything?

when i checked your link, it was the same as the one i posted.

am i missing something?

i have saved that setting and eliminated all others.
