exporting statistics reports to excel

the statistics report with monthly values of all accounts is useful to prepare annually reports showing per month total expenses , investments and revenues
my problem : exporting to excel generates data that cannot be used as numbers in excel even trying to reformat the numbers. the new excel file does not accept new number format
any idea? thanks, Paulo Altmayer Goncalves ; Brasil :)
