Editing Comments

I have littered my Cash account with repetitive comments such as:

"Paper and magazine"
"Magazine and paper"
"Magazine, paper".

I cannot see a way to access the Comments list so as to edit and tidy it up somewhat. Is this possible?

Even if it changed the original comments, that would not matter as there is no difference in meaning between the three examples given above.

Hi !
You can try these steps:
1. Go to query tab.
2. Set "when" to undefined.
3. In "Where" select "comment"
4. write comment keyword you want to sort (in ur case magazine/ paper)
5. Click find.

Now select the transactions whose comment you want to edit (using Ctrl Key). Right Click and select "Edit", then modify comment field.

Note: This will work for one origin account at a time. If origin account is different you may need to repeat with second origin account.

"... transactions whose comment you want to edit (using Ctrl Key). Right Click and select "Edit... ".

When I do that, what pops up is a blank form with the Transaction # at the top and two tabs named "Breakdown" and "Memo".

Perhaps a better solution would be to wait until the year end (coming up shortly) and then start a new file for next year.

So how could I do that and keep my categories and the current totals as the starting values in the new file?

(BTW, I do not know why all my paragraphs are centre rather than left-aligned. I have not formatted anything at this end.)

When creating a new file you have the choice of using the data of a previous file.

No, it creates a new file using the data of the pervious file. Why do you thing it will overwrite the previous data?
