We use AuthSMTP to send emails and I have been back and forth with their tech support re some emails that are not getting through.
What they are telling me is that if there is a bracket as part of the in the 'comment' part of the email address, MBM is not coding the email properly.
They say I cannot have brackets ( ) in the 'comment' part of the email address, and it causes a BCC type of delivery, as opposed to a normal one.
This is their info:
Most software would automatically add quotes to the email address 'name' -
it appears the software you are using does not.
You either need to contact the software vendor to find out why the
'comment' part of the email address is not being enclosed in quotes in the
headers - or removing the (Norfinch) part from the email address may
resolve the problem (even though not having the email name quoted is bad -
it obviously works for the others).
The Internet standards give brackets ( ) special meaning in the context of
email addresses, unless enclosed in quotes, or 'escaped'.
As they have special meaning - using them without quotes etc. causes the
system to mis-file the email as a BCC email, rather than To the recipient.
Thanks,
AuthSMTP Support
Anyone else have similar issues? Is this a problem with AuthSMPT or MBM or both?[/b][/b]
