Hello,

I'm a new user.
I would like to insert a background image in my message...
It's a Text/HTML format.

How does it work ?

Of course, I don't want it to be "attached" (I would know how to do it)
Of course I don't want just to insert an image in my message (I also know how to do this)

I do have a web server where my image might be stored (if it has to ??)

You will understand that my problem is that a "regular" background image is considered as attached file and so some email software don't load it automatically... too bad...

I could do it in "ENTOURAGE" for Mac, so I'm sure there's a way....
Thanks for your answers !

Vincent

Bonjour,

Vincent

Format

As I wrote above, it's Text/HTML.

What I did so far is :
1) attached a picture
2) in the HTML part, I define the background with the attached picture.

It's seems to work within ENTOURAGE, but what with other software.. ??

Thanks for your opinion !!

Thank you Stanbusk !

Well, the table is... wrong ! at least regarding GMAIL.

I did a test today and it didn't work. The "good" point is that it doesn't work with a message (that contains an inserted image) made and sent through Entourage either...

The "bad" point is that I never ever changed any setting in my GMAIL account... so, at least with default settings, the picture doesn't appear at all in the message, only as an attached "object".

Well, I'll test it again with friends who run PC's (I'm a Mac addict)...

Thanks anyway !

Vince

PS: just to let you know, here is part of the code of my message :

<html>
<body background="MessageM.jpg">
etc....
(MessageM.jpg is the attached picture)
