12,000 name email list sent, no bounces, no opt-outs?

I just sent out my list which is about 12,000 names. I got one bounce and 2 opt outs. This is a list that I have compiled of opt-ins for over 9 years. I have not done an email campaign in 5 years. Doesn't it seem odd that the opt-outs and bounces are so low? I have another company where we do monthly emails and always get bounces and opt outs all day long when they send. Does my ISP label my outgoing emails as spam or anything? Is it possible for them to do that? I am thinking that they might have because I notified them before I sent this list of my intentions. Any other ideas of why this is?

Yes, your server can do that. They can remove your message from the server queue if they detect a massive delivery. This is one of the reasons why I wrote this page.

Thanks for the reply. When I contact them, they say there is no reason why my emails should not be going out. They gave me special limits when I contacted them to let them know I was sending my list (1000 per hour or 10,000 per day) which I adhered to by doing groups of 20 every 3 minutes). I watch the delivery window and each seems to fine as they send. Even though they send, can my server be "labeling" the emails as spam or anything like that?

It is possible. The faster you send the worst. Including Hotmail has special filters to trash a message when it detects massive deliveries. You have to deliver your message as slowly as possible. Why do you want to deliver it that fast?

I was just trying to get them out. I tried again in groups of 5 but still the same result. So I tried with another web hosting account for one of my other web sites and they are now going through with bounces and opt outs coming back. So it seems the one web host is marking my emails because I contacted them so they know what I am doing. I suppose they are somehow marking them "list" or "bulk" or even "spam". But their tech support guys don't seem to know anything about that so it is probably in a part of their admin that they can't get too.

There is a lot of companies reselling web hosting packages and they have no real access to the server. Perhaps it is the case here. Anyway, a bigger interval should fix that problem.
