Credit and Debit cards

There is sometimes a difference between a credit card and a debit card, the first one usually gives you a credit when the latter directly debits your Bank account. When a card directly debits your account simply create transactions from the Bank to the expense account setting the transaction type to 'Card payment' this way:

Date Origin Account Target account
Amount

08/31/2003 My checking account My expense
150.00

There is no need to create a card account for a debit card or a credit card used as a debit card because they work like cash or checks. You only need to create card accounts for real credit cards, when payment is debited monthly similarly to a loan.
