very low verification rate?

I just used email verifier to try and clean up a newsletter mailing list with 7000 names. I usually get about 10% bounce rate when I send out a newsletter, so I thought it would be helpful to check.

The result that came back surprised me, because it only managed to validate less than 9% of the list – over 90% said "test unsuccessful". Is this usual? People subscribe for the newsletter, it isn't sent out unsolicited.

Is there anything I can do to improve the results?

I did post the console results last Friday, but they seem to have disappeared now – should I post again? Or does this mean you have information you need to identify the problem?

Yes, there are people that spam you almost every night :-/

Your connection log seems to show that port 25 is blocked by your internet provider. Have you ask them to remove that block?

no, I haven't – it is pretty much impossible to talk to them on any subject – they hide behind premium rate technical helplines, with long queues before you can talk to anybody.

Is that what my problem is? And can it only be sorted out by them?

Do you know why some of the email addresses were able to be checked, albeit less than 10%?

With port 25 blocked eMail Verifier is useless, it can't verify any emails actually.

I bought email verifier just few days ago and just to find out how it works I tested a clean email list of 1200 addresses (used last week sending newsletter with maxbulkmailer (I removed the few undelivered addresses); suprisingly from email verifier I got a result of only 20 % as valid addresses; most of the rest got "error 22" and a few got "timeout" result.

Your connection log shows port 25 is blocked with your internet provider. As a result all you get are connection errors and the testing is not possible.

But I also got 20 % valid ?
How can I solve the port problem ? Should I ask the internet provider or should I change preferences on my macbook ?

The 20% valid are probably validated by the eMail Verifier rules. Indeed you have to ask your internet provider to remove the port 25 blocking.
