Version 8.6 peekaboo checkmarks

I downloaded and installed version 8.6 yesterday. When I tried to use it, I found that the checkmarks in my recipient list disappeared as soon as I clicked out of "select" mode. Perfectly bizarre and an immediate bug that's an 8.6 showstopper for me. Hasn't this release been out since January? Is this a known issue? I'm not seeing anything about it here.

I am not aware of such bug. Can you send me a step by step procedure and what you expect?
