Umlaut in the Name field not displayed

Hello!

When somebody subscribes on the website in MLM and its name has an umlaut (mutated vowel) then the name gets a ? and is shortened respectivly cutted.

What is the workaround to get umlaut correct?

Are you using mySQL? or plain text files?

Hm, as I am not making the website on my on, i don't know, if possible.

I guess there is a limitation on the server regarding plain text. If you use mySQL you will use Unicode. This is the reason why mySQL would be recommended here. Not that your problem is not usual.
