I believe it has to do with the last macOS 10.13 High Sierra operating system and the new APFS hard disk format.
Indeed the system was returning the list folder contents properly sorted. With macOS 10.13 High Sierra the list comes somehow shuffled or maybe ordered by date, not sure. Anyway, we suffered the problem before anyone else and we fixed it right away, now the list is sorted by code. You can try the fixed versions here (This is a stable beta version).
