installatin problems MaxBulk Mailer and MLM

I need your help. The panel shows up to subscribe /unsubscribe but when people fill out the fields nothing happens. I actually does not work. 94K emails out a day and many people see that this program doesnt work. Please try to get it to work on a mac computer

Mail server- connected in back of cablevision (Optimum.net) modem directly.
‚ÅÉ Erased disk and fresh install 10.9 OSX software. Brought the versions all up to date up to 10.9.2
‚ÅÉ Install OSX Server software 10.9.2 on top of this and updated it all the way
‚ÅÉ mySql installed from an internet site
⁃ Installed MySQL on OSX 10.9 Maverick

Part B- The Desktop
The Desktop will run the MaxBulk Mailer and mail merge the documents. It will then send the documents up to the mail server above.

‚ÅÉ Mac mini has ethernet tied to Apple Time capsule (Router)
‚ÅÉ Time Capsule Router has ethernet tied into Cable modem
‚ÅÉ Mac Mini has local IP of 10.0.1.200
‚ÅÉ Firewall is ON even though Im behind the router, just in case of break in.
‚ÅÉ USERS & GROUPS in preference tied the desktop mac mini to the MAIL SERVER- joestrollassociates.com
‚ÅÉ APPLE mail allows me to send and receive emails through our Mail server- joestrollassociates.com
‚ÅÉ INSTALLED Max Bulk mail software on the DESKTOP Mac Min

We are already working on that with the support ticket you opened in the first place, please let continue with that ticket so we don't have to start over again and again. Almost 100% MLM problems come from server settings, Apache or PHP and sometimes mySQL.

If so, please provide a solution other than to say my settings are wrong, that doesnt help anyone.

I know somethings wrong but I think its your instructions or the way your software is with the Apache, Mac Software.

Whatever and whom ever's fault, doesnt matter. YOU HAVE A GOOD PIECE OF SOFTWARE but its almost works on a mac!

I need it to work completely and I'm asking you for your help! I am willing to pay you extra to make it work. I already paid Apple Tech Server support alot of extra money and another tech guy. They all say its your software and they cant figure it out.

Please assist and thank you for your time.

MLM has nothing to do with Mac actually, it is a PHP script made to work with mySQL on a Linux Apache server. You install it on your server with a FTP session or by using the MaxBulk Mailer built-in installer. There are times MLM doesn't work as expected. It can be a permission problem. That can be fixed with a FTP application as explained in that page. There is a list of possible problems and solutions here.

We are making progress!

I FTP a the whole lm folder from the max bulk mailer on my desktop to the joestrollassociates server, this morning after your comments.

I changed the password for the admin and changed the password for MySQL server on joestrolassociates.com server.

I get the new panel when I put in my address in to remove my name.

I now get a NEW MESSAGE, can't find the List1

The list I was using was called ###Test 1
The database name when I installed MySql was called---- database.

Why is the program looking for List1 and if so how and what do I change to move this program forward to working on my system?

Before that try to log into MLM with your browser. Can you do it? Then try to create a list? Any error? Can you create that sample list? If you can create a list without errors from the web interface it means MLM is installed properly.

I went into the lm/php file on the server opened the file and added the password in the top section where you have the // marks then removed the marks to make my passwords work.

When I removed the // marks the lm.php sign on doesnt show up in the browser at all.


Therefore, I took the passwords back out of the lm.php file and replaced the // marks.

Im back to the sign on screen for the MLM , see the URL below

But my user id and password do not allow entry.

MLM in my browser is NOT accepting my password

I' ve reset it

I made sure its the password I use to sign on to the server
Ive tried other USER ID

Suggestions? We are the closest to making this work!!!!

The User ID and password you need to log into MLM thru a browser are the User ID and password in the lm_settings.php file, by default:

Ok I can NOW log into the MLM through my browser as you suggested.

When I go to login I can see new list or upload but I get nothing.

I cannot upload a list to the server either from my desktop nor from the server itself. I cannot create a new list either.


Error - Server problem when reading list. [: ]

Is what I get?

I tried dragging over to the Application support the list of files from my desktop. That doesnt work!

I also tried to upload from both the desktop and from the server the various lists I have and still the server will not do it.

Suggestions, please?

I guess you can't create a list either, right?
If so, this is because you mySQL setting in lm_settings.php has errors. As a result MLM can't connect to your mySQL server. The problem can be the host address, port or your credentials. For the server address you could try 'localhost'.
