The 'xls' extension means the file is a Microsoft Excel file. iCash files use the '.icash' extension.

Why are you trying to open a Microsoft Excel file with iCash?

I'm not trying to open a Microsoft Excel file, the problem occurred when I tried to export a report from icash to excel, i cash closed unexpectedly with fatal error and then I lost work

Do you mean that if you reopen your document, not iCash itself but your iCash document, the data is no longer there?
