Failure to Connect to SMTP Host, Part 2

As I posted earlier (“failure to connect to SMTP Host”), my problem was solved using advice given by ‘stanbusk’.

Using that advice allowed me to send three successful test messages.

Today, a problem arose showing the same symptom—MaxBulk Mailer appeared to be stalled while seeking “Looking for smtp.gmail.com…” and as the progress bar remained blue and dynamic. MaxBulk Mailer never made contact.

I'll add that my connection to the internet was on and stable and I even checked to ensure that was so by visiting this website before and after attempting MaxBulk Mailer message delivery.

Attached are 3 screen shots showing the Delivery Report Window (2 shots, 1 upper and 1 lower) and the Settings window.

Any further advice?

Gmail is returning an error telling you your credentials are wrong. Try to check it and if everything seem fine set the authentication to PLAIN.

thanks for your response.

i tried your recommendation without success.

other information about my gmail account is correct (email addresse, password). i know that because your advice concerning my first post was effective—i was able to send three test messages after i made your recommended changes.

as i wrote before, when i tried the next day, i was once more unable to send a message. very strange.

i'm willing to keep trying, if you are. any more ideas?

i am trying to send one message in "Test Mode", to myself. it is a 100 word message with one jpeg image (around 300 KB).

I THINK THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED.

I HAVE DISCOVERED AN UNWANTED FIREWALL.

IF I DON'T POST AGAIN, IT REMAINS CORRECTED.

THANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME (SO FAR).
