I'm currently using MS Money on Windows. I have a new Mac and I'm a total Mac Newbie.

I'm looking for compatible software that I can run on both Windows & Mac that has basic functionality of MS Money and that can read the same data from both platforms.

So, here are my questions:

Is iCash similar to MS Money where I can set up accounts for Checking, Credit Cards, Cash, etc. and enter individual transactions into each account? For example, I'd like to be able to add a transaction in Visa - TV purchased at Best Buy for $1,00 that increases the Visa balance by $1,000. Then, when the bill comes, I'd like to enter a single transaction in my Checking account to pay Visa, say, $500. That transaction should debit $500 from the Checking balance and credit my Visa balance by the same amount. Does iCash do this?

If I purchase both the Mac & Windows versions, can I use both interchangeably, accessing the same data file(s) on my network drive?

BTW, I'm not expecting to be able to import any of my existing MS Money data into iCash. I'll be content to start fresh for 2008. I'll still have access to MS-Money if I need to look up old transactions.

Thanks!

Yes, iCash does this. Have you tried to enter some transactions with the demo? I think it is the best way to get started.

About PC/Mac compatibility, it is explained here: iCash files compatibility between Windows and Mac OS.

I've switched from MS Money to iCash, too and I'm really happy. The only thing I really miss (like some others) are split transactions, because the group feature is more "work".
And in my opinion the scheduler is a bit more comfortable, because you can decide, if you would like to make a transaction and you can make a "forecast" of an account.
