I am a bulk mailer novice and need some guidance. I have created a web page to use as a newsletter and it displays for most people just fine. But I am getting emails from some people saying it wont display (just a red x). I want to know what may be causing this (security in Windows?) and also how to format my message body to display some plain text alternative. I am an HTML novice and have been cheating by using Freeway for years now. Can someone offer some help?

Thanks

So the image in your message is referenced by the 'http://www.toastrock.com/Resources/emailimage.jpeg' url, right?

All I did was build a web page using Freeway and uploaded to my site. I am just pasting the web page url in my email message and selecting webpage as the format. The page itself has several objects in it. An jpg and a gif object with text. Will bulk mailer only reference a single image when using webpage format?

Remove all the window resizing stuff. This is evil.

Does the source code look more "friendly" now? Thanks for the help so far!

Another question. What is the syntax for putting in alternate text in the body of the message for folks who can't view the webpage? I tried adding it in but how do I test the alternate text? Will it only show up if the mail client won't display the webpage?

Yes, the text only shows up when no HTML rendering is available. Some applications let you see that alternative. What software do you use?

I am using Freeway to build the web pages and I am viewing with Safari. In Bulk Mailer, what code do I add to enter the text alternative? Does it go after the webpage url in my message body? I am an HTML noob.

I mean what Email software do you use to receive your messages? About your question, to add an alternative plain text version add two line-breaks and the text right below.

I added my message body as below and sent to myself. All I get is a broken link (shows up as a ? in mac mail). Is my setup correct?
