Hello,
I am trying the Transaction App, but found a problem (or perhaps I did something wrong). I have a list of clients and their email addresses in "Numbers" Application. I want to import these clients into Transaction, but after choosing Import > Clients from the menu, and choosing the archive, the Import window freezes, and neither the Import button or the cancel button work, and I am forced to Quit the application.
Please help me with this, I am very interested in this software, but wish it to be fully functional.
Thank you.
Nicolas. |

| No, its in the "Numbers" program, so it has a .numbers extention. Still, the program recognizes my file and allows me to open it, but as I say, it freezes in the "Import" window. |

| Yes, we only handle Plain Text. Trying to import a Number file is like importing a picture or a mp3. Try to export you file as a plain text file first. |

Mmm...I see. Well, my idea of using this program was to have all my clients (their emails, their names, etc) nicely organized in this application...but if that means that I have to copy-paste one by one onto a Plain Text document for later importing... then no thanks...
I would recommend you guys to implement some iWorks compability.
Best Regards,
Nicolas. |

Hello Again!
Ok, I've given Transaction another shot. I copied all emails, names, amount, and dates from my "Numbers" spreadsheet and pasted into a Plain Text document.
Now, I imported this document using the "Import > Transactions" option (because I included an amount, so I guess it counts as a transaction) and I wait a few seconds for all information to be imported.
Now... the problem is that there are no transactions!!! I can see that in the Customer tab, there are all my contacts, but no information on the transaction tab.
What am I skipping? please help! This looks like a very interesting and efficient product, but I need to be 100% sure and satisfied with it before buying!
Thank you,
Nicolas. |

| I guess your transactions are missing some important info. What fields are you importing to? |

Hello,
I just did a small example of what I'm trying to do. Here is the Plain Text I have (this is an example only):
Date Name email Amount
1/25/2008 John Smith john@mac.com US$19.95
1/25/2008 Katy Smith katy@mac.com US$19.95
1/25/2008 Ed Smith ed@mac.com US$19.95
1/25/2008 Frank Smith frank@mac.com US$19.95
These are the fields I set (after Import > Transactions):
Date --> Date
Name --> Customer Name
email --> Customer E-mail Address
Amount --> Amount
I get an error that says:
"An error occurs when parsing transaction date. Select the date format from your system preferences and try again"
But that is the date format my system has!!! I don't get it. Please help. How should the Spread Sheet chart look like? And what fields should I select?

yes it is. I checked in the System Preferences. Try to import that Plain Text I pasted... perhaps you will get the same error...
