Is there any rhyme or reason to when iCash will apply FOREX rates and when it will not?

Support sends me a worthy little FAQ about P&L items having a fixed transaction rate and Balance Sheet items converting on the fly as rates change. I get it.

What I do not get is why if I have a charge from a credit card in a different currency iCash applies 1:1; if I change the card for a bank account is applies and exchange rate. So, to get a rate I have to create and save using a bank account then edit the transaction back to credit card.

Except that half the time that knocks the rate back to 1:1 again.

If anyone knows where the dividing line between feature and bug lies with this I'd be pleased to know. So if FOREX matters to you TEST THIS CAREFULLY.

Yes, I sent this page to you: How iCash applies currencies and rates?. It explains that when you enter a transaction you have to fill the rate fields. Have you done that?

My question is;

Why when I spend cash do I get an auto exchange rate yet when I spend on my credit card I have to enter a rate by hand?

Ah; it may be more complicated.

If I want an auto rate I can post it using a bank account, then edit the transaction and replace the bank with a credit card account and keep the auto rate.

Then again at other times this fails and the rate reverts to back 1:1 when I replace the bank with a credit card account.

For me you have not articulated this feature effectively and it looks like a bug.

What do you call 'Auto rate'? When entering a transaction a rate has to be entered manually.
