|
|
Greetings.
I upgraded from version 5.6.2-5.6.3. Since doing that, I notice that if I move some of my MBM windows around my desktop, the top part of my file appears hidden behind the menu bar of my Mac, and I can not move it when that happens. Quiting and restarting program does not help.
I had this happen years ago with some buggy Nikon software, and the temporary fix was to go into the displays control panel, choose a lower screen resolution, then go back to prefered resolution. This seemed to at least get the MBM file window out from behind the menu bar.
A pain to do this. IS there a fix coming soon? No problems with any version except this new one.

| I don't understand your problem. A screenshot would help. |

Here is a screen capture. Notice ho the top part of the MBM window that is open is behind the menu bar. There is no place to "grab" the window to move it from this position.

| Do you mean you are able to move a window so it gets below Mac OX X menu bar? or is the document opening directly that way? |

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
What you see in the screen grab is how the MBM file opens whether I click on the actual file icon to open it or launch application, and then do a File open. The only way to click and drag a window on the mac is by clicking on the top bar, which you can see is inaccessable.
Again, what is interesting, is that id I reset my screen resolution from 1280xxxx to say 640x480, and then imediately switch back to my 1280 res., that file and anything else on the desktop repositions so that now I can grab the top bar of the MBM file to move it around.
I can open other mbm files and they "land" on my desktop in such a way as the top bar shows, and I can move things around.
It doesn't happen with just this one file that you see in the screen grab.
I'll try and replicate the problem once I "reset" my screen res. again and try again.
weird.

I am having the same issue after updating to 5.6.3. A new file opens fine and functions normally but any MBM file that is not brand new hides the top part of the file window under the menu bar and can not be moved or closed
I, too, can resolve the issue by changing the screen resolution to a different size and then back. Then that file works fine but other old files open "tucked" under the menu bar.
***ALSO - if I try to save any file I get the error "An unexpected error has occurred - Error creating file! (#2). I have to use "Save as" to save any file.

Stan -- this is exactly the same problem that I brought to your attention in the post entitled 'window too high."
I see now that it is not just me who is having this problem.
A quick resolution would be much appreciated by all concerned.

Hey Stan,
Thanks. I'll get that download on Monday. For those of us with inquiring minds, what was the problem?
Thanks for your attention to this.
Best wishes.

| The problem comes from the toolbar. So far we have been using our own toolbar but with Leopard we had to adopt standard Mac OS X toolbar in order to match other applications appearance (toolbar with grey background). However the Top coordinate of a window is where the contents start. With our own toolbar it was right below the title bar, now it is below the toolbar as it belongs to the window. As a result there is a difference of 57 pixels. The problem is when you open a document that was saved with previous MaxBulk Mailer using old toolbar, it will open 57 pixels above saved location. |
