Hello all,
I downloaded the new version yesterday, (5.4) and today when I went to send some emails, I noticed that the time settings had all changed.
All of my files are now set to send singly at 1:00 minute intervals. This is NOT what I had before. (I had a Group of 30 and this did not change).
Why did this happen?
Also, can you tell me what the suggested optimum settings are?
Thanks.

| What interval did you have before? We have enhanced the interval setting by popular request, to handle hours, minutes and seconds. That change doesn't and shouldn't change anything from your previous settings. |

Thanks for your reply Stan.
All the files I had sent emails one after another in groups of 30. After I upgraded, (with no change to the files or settings) MBM would send one email and then wait 60 seconds before it sent another. So it would take one hour to send 60 emails. This was definitely changed from what I had before.
I went through each of my files and changed the interval from one minute to one second. I'm not sure if this is right?
BTW, what are the suggested settings? I am on Shaw high speed cable up here in Canada.
Thanks in advance for your time.

In previous versions group setting was per connection. Now it is global. We changed that because most people are tended to think it is global. In other words, now the group setting is connection-independent. MaxBulk Mailer will calculate the best internal setting. The interval however was conserved, we only add a new 'seconds' field. Both changes have been done because of popular request.
The best setting is 'as slow as possible'. I mean, servers don't like their customers abusing servers so it is better to send at a slow pace. With 'slow' I mean a speed both you and your ISP can tolerate. With small lists that doesn't matter. |
