Just bought eMail Verifier and imported 9,684 records, which worked fine; the addresses were all properly formatted, and the program correctly identified them as "Commercial" or "Nonprofit Organization" etc. according to the Domain suffix (.com, .org, etc.) Ran eMail Verifier using preset preferences (3 retries, 15 second timeout), and after several hours, I ended up with a useless report. According to the results box on the bottom of the screen, 5,327 addresses were marked as valid, but every one of those was because of a rule (aol.com, yahoo.com, etc.). 7,015 were "Test unsuccessful." Bad addresses: 0. (Why the valid and unsuccessful numbers add up to 12,352 instead of 9,684 I have no idea.) I know there are a lot of bad addresses in this list (one of the reasons I bought eMail Verifier). On almost all the "Test unsuccessful" addresses the reason given in the "Result" column was "Timeout." There must be some setting I have wrong? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried to enter your DNS server addresses into eMail Verifier preferences? Also, have you checked whether port 25 is not blocked by your ISP? It is explained here: How to find out whether port 25 is blocked by your ISP?

Thanks for the reply. It turns out I'm using Cablevision as my ISP, which was blocking Port 25. I used another ISP that was available to me and got good results. Thanks again.
