Hi,

I am getting a new error when I try and save any new file:

Quote:
An unexpected error has occurred.
Error creating file!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I am having the same problem. This has been happening for over a week now. I just purchased the full Mail package. My current workaround is doing save as... then replacing the old file, however this does not always work. It seems over 150 have looked this post already, please help resolve this.
---
Exact error message:
An unexpected error has occured.
Error creating file (#2)
---

I just updated to the new version. With the old I was getting error saving file, now it says the above dialog.

Thanks

Think it might be a permissions problem, try repairing your permissions with disk utility...

It looks like the probel is related to Spotlight. Try the following tool http://www.fixamacsoftware.com/software/spot/index.php deleting the Spotlight database.

You just need to uninstall Safari beta 3.0. Once done everything will work as usual. Note that you can uninstall it with the installer itself. This page talks about the problem: http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?RSS&NewsID=18305

About the other problem, just do the following:

1.- Open 'System Preferences'
2.- Click on 'Spotlight'
3.- Click on the 'Privacy' tab
4.- Drag and drop your hard disk to the list
5.- Select your hard disk from the list and press '-'

Is the crashing issue fixed with the latest release of Safari?

I hope so. Currently I am not receiving any more reports regarding this issue so it is possible it has been fixed. You can try and let us know.

Running "Repair Disk Permissions" in OSX 10.4.10 worked for me. I am running Safari Beta 3.0.2 and did not have to un-install Smile

Safari 3.02 seems to have fixed the problems anyway, but disk repair will always help Smile

I have the same problem and it happens more often--to the point where I can't use the program because I can never save anything.
I used to get around it with a save as..but now it is happening even when I create a new file.
I don't have any version of Entourage 3.
I repaired my permissions, and i have no idea what you are suggesting re spotlight...so I trashed my spotlight prefs.

All my system software and maxbulkmailer are the latest versions.
