|
|
Problem: I have two lists of recipients in my document. One of them is an older version. I have deleted this older list of recipients ten times or more, but it stills shows up the next time I launch MaxBulk Mailer. What gives?
I'm using version 5.0.3.
I'm also having trouble with people recieving my messages although they have unsubscribed, and I have removed them from the (newer) list (and saved the list, and saved the document). |

| You just have to unsubscribe those addresses. You can do it manually or dropping a file named 'unsubscribe' containing the addresses to unsubscribe. |

Ok, fair enough.
| Quote: | Adding, deactivating and deleting records
To enter a new recipient, just press the Add button (+ icon) and enter the details directly in list. To remove entries, select them and press the Remove button (- icon). Note that deleting recipients that have unsubscribed from your newsletter is almost never a good strategy for maintaining your lists because you may add them again later accidentally. MaxBulk Mailer lets you deactivate unsubscribed recipients by selecting one or several recipients and using the list contextual menu 'Subscribe' or 'Unsubscribe'. Unsubscribed recipients are deactivated and remain on your list thus you can't add them again later. You can re-subscribe them anytime. |
But still, why can't I delete a list of recipients from my document? What's the basic idea? Since the UI lets me do it, and indicates that it has been done, it looks like a bug to me. |

| To delete select the recipient(s) and press the Delete button. Then save the list so the changes are saved to the file. |

Well, that does remove the recipients from the old list, but the list itself re-appears the next time I launch the document. |

| Are you saving it? Using the list manager pull-down menu or the Save button on the right? |

Yes, save button on the right and then saving the document. |

| Ok. So you modify you list and press the save button on the right of the list selector. Then you quit. Launch MaxBulk again, select the list again. Do you mean deleted recipient are again available? |

Yes and no.
Now that you told me to delete the recipients, and not the list itself, the recipients are gone. But the list is still listed in the pop-up menu. |

| Yes, a list remains until you explicitly use the 'Delete List' menu. |

|

I have exactly the same problem, and I truly ask the developers to come up with a solution to it.
Here's the problem step-by-step again:
I select a recipient list (let's call the list "Dummy" here) from the List drop-down menu
I select "Delete..." from the List drop-down-menu. The application asks if i'm sure - I say yes. When I drop down the menu again, "Dummy" is gone
I quit the application (with or without saving the document - it doesn't make a difference)
I start the application again and click the List drop-down-menu. "Dummy" is back in the menu!
This problem occurs with EVERY list - my list menu is full of junk by now, and I can't get rid of it!
Please help. |

| Lists are saved to the '~/Documents/Maxprog/Maxbulk Mailer/Lists' folder. You are free to move lists to the trash from this location as well. |
